We design tightly integrated autonomy stacks in Europe to enable decisive autonomy for NATO-aligned forces, focusing on defensive and counter-system capabilities including anti-UAS and resilient autonomy under contested conditions.</p><h3>We are looking for a <strong>Senior Robotics Autonomy Engineer</strong> to build the intelligence that turns mission objectives, target information and vehicle state into executable autonomous behaviour.</h3><h2><strong>Your mission with us</strong></h2><ul><li><p>Build the autonomy layer of our high-speed aerial robotic systems.</p></li><li><p>Convert mission objectives, target state and vehicle state into real-time actions and trajectories.</p></li><li><p>Develop algorithms for dynamic rendezvous, pursuit, interception and terminal approach.</p></li><li><p>Build target-motion prediction and intercept-point estimation for moving airborne targets.</p></li><li><p>Develop real-time path planning, trajectory generation and replanning under uncertainty.</p></li><li><p>Account for aircraft capabilities, energy, maneuverability, sensing uncertainty and changing target behaviour.</p></li><li><p>Build decision and behaviour logic that allows the system to adapt continuously during a mission.</p></li><li><p>Combine classical robotics, optimization, MPC and learned approaches where appropriate.</p></li><li><p>Explore reinforcement learning, imitation learning and policy-based autonomy where they provide meaningful advantages.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with perception, estimation and control engineers to close the autonomy loop.</p></li><li><p>Take algorithms from simulation into real aircraft and validate them through repeated flight testing.</p></li></ul><h2><strong>Your contribution to the team <em>(required)</em></strong></h2><ul><li><p>Strong robotics or autonomous-systems background with significant real-world deployment experience.</p></li><li><p>Strong experience with motion planning, trajectory generation or autonomous decision-making.</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics and optimization.</p></li><li><p>Experience with dynamic environments and moving-target problems.</p></li><li><p>Experience with trajectory optimization, optimal control, MPC or comparable approaches.</p></li><li><p>Strong C++ skills and good Python skills.</p></li><li><p>Experience deploying autonomy algorithms onto real robotic systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of uncertainty and its implications for decision-making and planning.</p></li><li><p>Ability to design algorithms that operate under real-time compute constraints.</p></li><li><p>Hands-on attitude and willingness to participate directly in flight testing and system debugging.</p></li></ul><h2><strong>Big plus</strong></h2><ul><li><p>UAV / fixed-wing autonomy.</p></li><li><p>High-speed aerial robotics.</p></li><li><p>Rendezvous, pursuit or intercept problems.</p></li><li><p>Target-motion prediction.</p></li><li><p>Aggressive flight.</p></li><li><p>Reinforcement learning on real robots.</p></li><li><p>Imitation learning / learned policies.</p></li><li><p>PX4.</p></li><li><p>ROS2.</p></li><li><p>Optimal control and trajectory optimization.</p></li><li><p>Aviation, defence or space systems.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Even if you don’t tick every box, we encourage you to apply - we’d love to hear from you.</p><p>Find more <a href="https://www.arbeitnow.com/english-speaking-jobs">English Speaking Jobs in Germany</a> on Arbeitnow</a>
