Since July 2025, UP42 has been a part of Neo Space Group.We are looking for a Cloud Engineer (m/f/x) to join our motivated SRE team in Berlin to help scale and maintain our cloud infrastructure while ensuring the reliability and performance of our geospatial processing platform.What you will do:<ul><li>Build, maintain and scale reliable infrastructure solutions using cloud-native technologies.</li><li>Contribute to our IaC practices by managing and deploying cloud resources using Terraform and other modern tools.</li><li>Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and workloads in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).</li><li>Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting solutions across our platform using tools like Prometheus.</li><li>Drive continuous improvements in system resilience by automating repetitive tasks and streamlining operations.</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to establish, track, and maintain effective SLOs/SLIs.</li><li>Participate in our office-hours-only on-call rotation to troubleshoot issues and ensure platform stability.</li></ul> Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:<ul><li>Several years of proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps roles</li><li>Practical experience managing infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or comparable experience with AWS/Azure</li><li>Solid working knowledge of Terraform (you can confidently read, modify, and deploy existing IaC modules in production)</li><li>Hands-on experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting containerized workloads in production environments</li><li>Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts</li><li>Experience with observability solutions and monitoring systems like Prometheus</li><li>Driven to make a hands-on impact as an Individual Contributor (IC), bringing a growth mindset, technical empathy, and a collaborative approach to the team</li><li>Full business fluency in English, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse teams</li></ul>Bonus points if you bring:<ul><li>Experience with building Terraform modules</li><li>Cloud networking knowledge (VPC, subnets, routing…)</li><li>Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and cloud security best practices</li></ul>Let us tell you why UP42 is a good choice:<ul><li>Let's disrupt the industry: You get the chance to shape the state-of-the-art geospatial processing platform and create a completely new planetary perspective.</li><li>Let's stay flexible: We practice a hybrid working model - you can choose when to work from the comfort of your home or join your colleagues in our modern office in the heart of Kreuzberg, or even from a global place of your choice up to 90 days per year.</li><li>Let's win as a team: We're an inspiring international team working in a fun and productive environment.</li><li>Let's be fair: We offer a competitive salary package and other perks such as wellbeing initiatives, sponsored fitness subscriptions, educational budget for your personal development and public transportation discount - just to name a few.</li><li>Let's enjoy the good side of life: Gather in regular team events as well as our global company parties twice a year.</li><li>Let's think outside of the box: There are challenges and enough space for creativity and taking ownership.</li></ul>Does this sound like a good next step into your geospatial career?
